Nintendo is now launching a new mobile game Fire Emblem Shadows, which is a real-time strategy mixed with social deduction. The game is a free-to-start game that has optional in-app purchases available now in more than 70 countries, such as the United States and Japan, on both iOS and Android.
What Is Fire Emblem Shadows?
Shadows is a game with a distinctive twist to it in contrast to traditional Fire Emblem games. Each multiplayer game includes three players who are in a team to navigate a labyrinth to kill enemies. But one of the players is an agent of shadow undercover, who is opposing the team. Following the end of every battle, voters cast their votes to determine who is the traitor, the success of the vote determines the level of the difficulty of the next battle.
It includes a new cast of characters, such as Prince Kurt of the collapsed Kingdom of Ast, and has light and shadow story lines. It allows players to up-grade and characterize their characters, which are called Disciples, with different weapons and magic abilities.
How to Play
Fire Emblem Shadows is available on the following platforms as a downloadable game:
- Google Play Store
- Apple App Store (link to be added once it is available)
Monetization
Although the game is free to download and play, it has optional in-app purchases. There is also a Season Pass that is a premium edition that unlocks exclusive content like the character Lyn – Plains Wind.
Availability
Fire Emblem Shadows is also a mobile-only game and not on Nintendo Switch or PC. Nintendo has not indicated its intentions of releasing the game to other platforms.
And, in case you want a combination of strategy and social deduction, Fire Emblem Shadows is another new approach to the Fire Emblem world.
