Industry Moves & Strategic Shifts

  • UFC deal: Paramount has signed a groundbreaking seven-year deal (commencing in 2026) with UFC to exclusively stream its fights in the U.S. with a total cost of 7.7 billion. This implies that big UFC events and Fight Nights will be featured in Paramount+ (some of them will also be broadcast on CBS).
  • Merger news: Skydance Media and Paramount Global are now officially merged into Paramount Skydance Corporation. Under new CEO David Ellison, the company is currently focusing on cost-cutting, integrating technology (including AI), and focusing on streamers even more.

o Taylor Sheridan, the creative powerhouse behind Yellowstone, Mayor of Kingstown, Tulsa King, Landman, and future spinoffs like Dutton Ranch and Y: Marshals, is high on the priority list of the new Paramount+ strategy.

conclusion:-

Paramount+ is aggressively reaching into the future as one of the leading streaming and entertainment providers. As the UFC deal attaches millions of sports fans to the service beginning 2026, Taylor Sheridan expands his oilfield saga narrative to Landman Season 2, and a variety of Yellowstone spinoffs (including Dutton Ranch and Y: Marshals) cash in on its streaming portfolio, the service is turning to event programming, both scripted and live, to be a difference-maker in an overcrowded streaming market.

That could be seen by the subscribers as a sign that Paramount+ is now a one-stop shop: blockbuster warfare, ultra-highbrow drama, and the Sheridan-verse which all spill over into the same roof. The upcoming year prepares Paramount+ to compete not only with Netflix and Disney+, but with the sports dominance of ESPN, as well, making it an entity you cannot afford to overlook in the streaming wars.

Would you have me draw how Paramount+ currently compares with competitors (Netflix, Disney+, Prime, ESPN+) in the areas of sports, originals, and movies?
