Protective Procedures and Continuing Fears.

The security in New York City was heightened based on a reported vague but worrying terror threat that was allegedly caused by people of Iran affiliation. The threat was directed to the important infrastructure like bridges and tunnels between Manhattan and Queens. With the security intensifing, Mayor Eric Adams assured citizens that they were safe in the city.

Subsidy  9/11 Health Programs.

Survivors and legislators are compelling Congress to allocate more money to continue the World Trade Center Health Program that has been able to cover more than 140,000 people since 2011 through cancer treatment, respiratory support and mental health services. The program is estimated to cease receiving new applicants in 2027 because of lack of funds. Proponents emphasize that the program is a lifeline particularly with the fact that an increasing number of people are diagnosed with 9/11-related long-latency diseases.
